Solar canopies approximate
= 43,585 sq. ft.
Mr. Nathan Collins, Sr. Manager of Engineering for Nextgrid, a national solar company.
They are the owners of the property. This lot is located at the end of Echo Road and abuts
the airbase on one side and industrial properties on the other side. There is a small portion
of the southwest that is located within the residential zoning district.
The application incudes a series of carports over a paved area to be used as a
contractor's yard. There is not a lease in place, but will eventually lease the property to a
contractor. There is no building on the property and there is no plans to construct a
building.
Mr. Brendon Reali, Atlantic Design Engineers introduced himself. The lot is currently
cleared and will be used as a contractor's yard for storage of construction material and
vehicles. Mr. Reali reviewed the site plan depicting the proposed project area on Sheet 3
of 5. The purpose of the canopies is store the materials overnight. There will not be a high
level of traffic turnover; just once in the morning and once in the evening. There will be
minimum clearing of trees. They have contacted the FAA because of the solar, and there
is almost no impact to flight patterns. The FAA will provide a certification letter.
i
