<br /> <br />SHELLFISH COMMISSION <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 15, 2022 – 7:00PM <br />MASHPEE TOWN HALL – 16 GREAT NECK ROAD NORTH <br />WAQUOIT MEETING ROOM <br /> <br />PRESENT: Chair Peter Thomas, Co-Chair Richard Cook, Bill Holmes, Daryl Christensen <br /> <br />OTHER ANTENDEES: Natural Resources Officer Chris Avis, Town of Mashpee Harbor Master <br />Robert Tamaino <br /> <br />ABSENT: Jamie Pachico, Buddy Pocknett <br /> <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Chair Thomas called the meeting to order in Open Session in the <br />Waquoit Meeting Room at 7:00PM. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: None at this time. <br /> <br />MINUTES: Discussion and approval of the October 18, 2022 Shellfish Commission Meeting minutes. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Holmes to accept the October 18, 2022 Shellfish Commission Meeting <br />minutes as written. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Christensen. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: None at this time. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br /> <br />1. Harbor Management Committee: Commission Appt. <br /> <br />Chair Thomas stated that both Dick and Jamie have been attending the Harbor Management Committee <br />meetings. The Committee is asking for one appointed person. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Chair Thomas to formally appoint Dick Cook to the Harbor Management <br />Committee. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Christensen. <br />Motion was passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />2. Volunteer Program Update: AmeriCorps Involvement. <br /> <br />Mr. Avis stated that a volunteer has been working with the Department of Natural Resources every <br />Wednesday from 7:30 to 3:30. The volunteer is mainly checking the water quality and culling on Thatch <br />Island. <br />Mr. Avis stated that the Director of Natural Resources, Ashley Fisher has applied for a group of <br />AmeriCorps volunteers to come in to assist in culling on Thatch Island.
