Meeting held:July 19 1965 <br /> Present* Richardson Jonas, Harry T abb, Leo Houst on g Marvel St al-cup <br /> The members of the Planning Board assemb.1ed at 7:45 to discuss <br /> and prepare for the' Public Hearing which Mr. Jonas opend. at <br /> 8:25 P.1 .- with approximately 75-80 present,, He read:, the. notice, <br /> of the Pub 1 i c Hearing as advertised in the Cape Cod St andard-r <br /> Times on June 17 aril.. June 24. The names of the 41 abuttors were- <br /> not read as. each received a copy of the advertisement via Registered <br /> Mr. Jonas then advised that due to so many being present he: would~ <br /> limit each speaker to 2 m inut e s..- <br /> M±. Beecher, Attorney for the petitioner was the first speaker <br /> and he advised that in the developement --27 acres were for parks. <br /> That the shore lots are deep, lots run from 10,000 -- 20,000 feet.- <br /> Miss Cornelia Carey was first to speak _din behalf of her brother <br /> and herself who are property owners at Ashumet Pond.. Her maim <br /> ob jectio3. was that there were too many wells and cesspools in+- <br /> volved and was afraid of water being polluted. <br /> Mr. An.d.rews,the pet it i oner g said their lots are 10 9 000--20,00O <br /> sq. ft. with average lot 14$400 sq. ft. and that actually there- <br /> are 340 Lots with *2tw 7 acres for parks. <br /> He also said they first flew over the area taking pictures and <br /> also made a topographic neap. Percolation tests show that it is <br /> possible to double state.minimum. requirements.- It is not economi- <br /> cally -possible to put in water mains but if developments get large, <br /> enough they will think about putting in water: <br /> Mr. George Greens Chaximan 'of the Mashpee 'Board of Health;- said:. <br /> they suggested the development put in a central water system. <br /> Also that the Board would def inietly not approval of septic_ <br /> tanks and wells.. <br /> Nor. 0eo. H. Bell of Ashumet inquired re large lots with small <br /> houses in development. <br /> Mr. Andrews said they must approve of tht Mans�and builder � y <br /> . <br /> must finish outside in six months, Joundations will be 24 r-24.9 <br /> somebra unique� thinks design is more 'Important-, <br /> than minimum size. <br /> Mr, Lawrence Shubow� an Attorney from John t s Pond- represented <br /> himself and 8-9 abettors. He advised they feel the development <br /> i s an over exp 1 o i t at i on of land also that Ho opho l e Road en- <br /> croaches 10--15 ft, on private property. .A. private expert is <br /> to -be hired` to give his Fyopinion. -If trees are taken down <br /> noise from Otis A.F.B. will be worse in that area. He. wishes <br /> to talk with developers and wants Planning Board- to go slow - <br /> wants -plans changed. <br /> Mr. Eugene B. Cast ellucai, ' Prof es signal surveyor and engineer-7 <br /> an abuttorg opposed stating in his opinion percolation will <br /> pollute ponds and water supply. .A.l so g that devel opmeht should <br /> have more entrance roads. <br />
