7 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> December 8, 2022 <br /> Evan Lehrer Town Planner/Affordable Housing,Trust;,*Affordable Housing Trust Ap,Il cation <br /> for Transfer of Funds:,(continued) <br /> The Community Preservation Committee was supportive of the recommendations making the <br /> following motion; <br /> Motion made by Ms.Waygan to approve and recommend to the May 2023 Special Town <br /> Meeting, the Municipal Affordable Housing Trust Application for the Transfer of Funds in <br /> the amount of$300,000 subject to a Grant Agreement as required by the CPA Act. <br /> Funding shall derive from the 10% Affordable Housing Reserve. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Smith amending the motion; Funding shall derive from the 10% <br /> Affordable Housing Reserve in full. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr.Hyde. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 7-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Ms.Russell, yes Mrs. Thayer, yes Mr. Hyde,yes Ms.Waygan, yes <br /> Mr.Larkin, yes Ms.Barbee, yes Mr. Smith,yes Opposed,none <br /> mmCatherine wLaurent,mmDirector ofPublicMWorks/MasheShoo m upe ashnetSchool <br /> Pla yground Improvements Phase II: <br /> Members of the CPC reviewed the project submitted by the Mashpee DPW and School <br /> Department to make improvements to the Quashnet School Playground—Phase II in the amount <br /> of$378,080. <br /> The project includes the construction of new basketball courts and tennis/pickleball courts, a new <br /> playground game to include new surfacing to meet the requirements for fall protection and <br /> handicap accessibility. <br /> This project supports the Open Space &Recreation Plan to meet the needs of residents and <br /> visitors of varied age groups and interests for passive and active recreation opportunities. The <br /> $391,080 project will use revenues from fees collected from the use of the fields by outside <br /> groups. The DPW will perform some of the work and maintain the property through its annual <br /> Building& Grounds Expense budget. <br /> The CPC approved funding in 2016 to install a new multi-age playground with accessible <br /> surfacing. The playground is well-used. <br /> Letters of support from the Quashnet School P.E. Teacher,the Quashnet School Principal and <br /> the Recreation Director were included in the project application. <br />
