Just received a memo back stating they were happy
to help out and had set an appointment for him to meet with the Planning
Board this evening.
Mr. Mars ters informed Mr. Buckingham that a Water Study Committee was
formed a couple of gears ago and the people involved just forgot about
i t. He agreed with Mr. ' Buckingham that now is the time when we can
do what is needed without spending any money. Mr . Buckingham said this
is not going to be a committee that will fall apart after 3 years , it
is going to have to be a continuing co=ittee. ; I don' t anticipate or
see the need for fundi:ng. . . I don, "t see the need for a good period of
time for the technicalities which will involve hiring somebody to do
the work outside of the secretarial work. In that direction, I know
that we can get a lo-t of direction from CCP. Mr. Buckingham has re-
quested that the Planning Board lend their voice to his to the Selectmen ,
we have to get the committee put together to take the steps one at a time
and once we get the designated areas and get the geography; then get it
put through to the Town,- them. I be l i-eve Jeane Thomas has co-pies- from
some of the other model by-laws that have been suces sful in the other
Towns ; however, I think they need to be modified to fit our conditions .
Mr. -Buckingham says that we have different conditions from any other
town on the Cape in sofar as our water set-up , but M.r Buckingham hopes
that Planning Board can send -a letter to the Selectmen in favor of
setting this committee and go along with the methology of putting it
together so -that we can -begin action by middle spring. 11r. Buckingham
says that he knows the Conservation Commission is in favor of it ,
