It was stated that moving forward, Ms. Fisher will be in contact with other growers. She was able to <br />secure a large order from Clam Daddy, based in New Jersey of 2.5 million. Clam Daddy is cheaper than <br />ARC by $4/per thousand for larger animals and sooner delivery. <br />For this next year we have a total of 7.5 million quahogs and 1 million oysters on order. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />2013 CPC Funds Expended. <br />Ms. Fisher stated that she was informed that there was a remainder of roughly $6,000 in CPC funds from <br />2013. It was used to purchase 29 additional trays that can be used for both oysters and quahogs. <br />2. Shellfish Regulation Clarification — Warden vs. Constable. <br />Ms. Fisher reported that according to M.G.L. Chapter 130, Section 98 it is stated that each Town must <br />appoint a Shellfish Constable or Deputy Shellfish Constable. The Rules and Regulations as they were <br />previously approved make reference to "Shellfish Warden". The Rules and Regulations will be updated <br />to read "Shellfish Constable". <br />3. New Aquaculture Interests. <br />It was stated that letters of interest are currently being accepted. There are 3, possibly 4 interested parties, <br />all of which come from fishing backgrounds. <br />Ms. Fisher stated that The Fundamentals of Shell Fishing course is scheduled to begin in January and all <br />applicants will be required to take the course. <br />Mr. Pocknett stated that the Tribe has available funds and resources to assist the Town as a joint <br />venture/partnership. <br />Mr. Avis express gratitude for the generous support from the Tribe with volunteering their time to help <br />out. <br />ADDITIONAL TOPICS <br />Mr. Avis reported that the past month has been very busy on the Island. He stated that they've gotten <br />through 5 of the 8 rows out there. Again, with the assistance of the Tribe. <br />Mr. Avis stated that they opened November I st in Ockway Bay and close to 40 thousand oysters and trays <br />were dropped to the right of the ramp. <br />He's been working closely with DMF to open Mashpee Neck and they finally got the green light last <br />weekend. Oysters will be taken from Mashpee River and relocated to Mashpee Neck Landing. <br />Leo from AmeriCorps volunteers every Wednesday. He's been working on water quality initiatives and is <br />also working on updating the volunteer flyer as well as the Safe Shell Fish Handling brochure. <br />ARC came and removed the FLUPSY from Great River and it is now in Fairhaven for repair. <br />
