Other items not reasonably anticipated by the Chair:
Mrs. Sprout expressed concern about stakes that are currently being placed in the ground. She asked if
homeowners should get a second opinion as to the stake placement, taking into consideration the 10 foot
easement between the water and electric.
Mrs. Sprout also requested a copy of the notice that goes out to the homeowners once the state is placed.
Mrs. Sprout inquired about the timeline once the stake is placed and the homeowner has to decide if it is in
the correct place. Mr. Jack stated that once the stake appears, it is an indicator of where the Town's
engineers, from a design perspective, are presuming it's the best location for it to go. If the homeowner
doesn't act on it or assumes that that is okay, that is where the lateral will be installed from the main. Mr.
Jack went on to state that approximately 2 weeks after the stake goes into the ground the contractor will be
installing the lateral.
Meredith Harris stated that she thinks it is important to get information out to the homeowner in a timely
manner, so that they know what is expected of them. She suggested a media blitz.
Phyllis Sprout asked, if once the mains have been laid but the laterals have not, is it too late for any changes?
Mr. Jack respond, yes. Because, they put a fitting in the main where the lateral will be located.
Next meeting:
February 23, 2023
Mashpee Town Hall
Waquoit Meeting Room
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA
Mr. Towle made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Mr. Lyons seconded the motion.
Motion was passed by unanimous consent
Meeting adjourned at 3:05PM
Respectfully Submitted,
2
Susan Donovan
Board Secretary
3
