Health Agent <br /> Vice-Chair Ernest Virgilio called the Board of Health meeting to order at 6:07 PM. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. COVID-19 update. <br /> Ms.Willander reported effective December 1,2021 the CDC will no longer be accepting new cases <br /> for contact tracing and will officially close on December 30,2021.VNA will resume contact tracing <br /> for the town beginning December 1, 2021. <br /> The states most recent dashboard report reflected a positive rate in Mashpee of 2.39%.The town <br /> currently has 13 positive cases.There are currently 9 individuals hospitalized with COVID between <br /> Cape Cod and Falmouth hospitals,two of which are in ICU.These numbers are not just Mashpee <br /> residents. <br /> Current data indicated that one in every three cases state-wide is a breakthrough case. <br /> Effective November 2, 2021 the Pfizer vaccine was available to ages 5-12 years old. The school <br /> nurse coordinator called today to discuss and in school vaccination clinic. <br /> The office has received calls for booster shots. The office is referring these calls to the county <br /> health department, as they are holding clinics and no appointment necessary. <br /> Health department website has been updated with all current vaccination information. <br /> 2. Show Cause Hearing—Kennel Regulation Violations. Mr. Harrington commented that at the last <br /> meeting,there was a brief discussion regarding this property. He reminded the Board with a brief <br /> history of this violation and that the Board requested the health agent determine the options for <br /> enforcement. This was done through an opinion from Town Counsel. Mr. Harrington <br /> recommended the board chooses to issue a fine greater than what was recommended by the <br /> health agent, then it is recommended continuing the hearing to a time with a full board. The <br /> board has not issued a fine beyond the scope of a regulation before so it will set a precedent. <br /> 1 <br />
