<br />Construction of the concrete forms are currently underway at the plant. <br /> <br />Mr. Jack gave an in depth explanation about the purpose of manholes and what they do. He stated that <br />anytime a pipe flow changes there has to be a manhole. He stated that they also provide access to the main <br />for maintenance and they are typically determined to be placed every 300’ at a 6’ to 8’ depth and must <br />continuously slope. <br /> <br />He went on to explain FOG (Fats, Oils and Grease) and the importance of not putting them down the drain. He <br />also stated that planting trees over sewer systems is detrimental to the system due to the roots of the tree <br />eventually harming the piping and the system. <br /> <br />2. Discussion of Next Phase Properties to Target for Getting Line One to Full Capacity. <br /> <br />Mr. Jack stated that there are presently 300 properties included in Phase 1 of the project and the SRF funding <br />will allow for another 139. The system allows for 120k gallons of flow at capacity and currently, in Phase 1, the <br />Town will be utilizing under 50k gallons. He stated that there are different ways to calculate the flow. One of <br />which is by Title V and is determined by the number of bedrooms and averages 120/gal. day per bedroom and <br />the other is by actual usage.
