<br />She said that she anticipates weekly work sessions to take place as well. At the work sessions, work <br />assignments will be reviewed, the current status of the website will be reviewed and any pending issues that <br />should be covered will be looked at as well as the next steps to be accomplished. <br />Co-Chair, Meredith Harris stated that one of the main goals is to eliminate any redundancy and make the <br />website more user friendly and suggested that the Commission look over what they received today and email <br />any suggestions to either and/or Catherine. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Sewer Project Construction Update – Ray Jack. <br />Mr. Jack gave a pictorial update of the ongoing work on Rte. 28 and at the plant. <br />The slabs have been poured at the plant and things are starting to take shape. Inside forms and rebar have <br />been placed for the equalization tank walls. Outside forms will be placed and then they will be able to pour <br />the concrete. <br /> <br />No work is being done right now on the North and South collection system, all work is being focused on Rte. <br />28 at the moment, placing mains and installing manholes. <br />It was asked when the work on Rte. 28 will be complete and Mr. Jack said they are making tremendous <br />progress and they should be done by the end of the Month, maybe a few days after. <br />Mr. Jack stated that the final SRF/IUP is out and has been approved at $12,000,000. <br /> <br />2. GHD – WRRF Quality Control. <br />There was a discussion with Sandra Tripp regarding quality control for the wastewater treatment plant. <br />She explained that the first type of testing comes from a third party testing firm (UTC). They are responsible <br />for testing of things that get taken offsite. For example, they take samples of the concrete and test it for <br />strength and integrity. They also will do soils compaction tests and pavement testing. <br />The second type of testing is called Special Inspections and is required by code. They test the structural <br />integrity of the tanks and structures. This is done by GHD’s on site engineer who also reviews the testing that <br />is done by the third party testing firm. <br />The last type of testing is specific to this particular project which requires a lot of underground piping and <br />above grade piping which all gets pressure tested and witnessed by GHD and is all documented and kept <br />onsite and digitally. HVAC equipment, treatment equipment and electrical gear all have testing requirements. <br />GHD witnesses final testing on every piece of equipment. <br /> <br />Anastasia Rudenkho gave a slide show presentation on The Notice of Project Change (plan update) that they <br />are currently working on. <br />The original plan was a 5 phase plan approved by the State in 2015 outlining the different nitrogen <br />management strategies that the Town is implementing to meet its total maximum daily load goals in <br />Popponesset and Waquoit Bay estuaries. It’s been determined, by evaluation, that sending municipal <br />wastewater flow to the private plant at Mashpee Commons and the private plant at the Wampanoag <br />wastewater treatment facility is not an option at this time. <br />Currently, they are working on reviewing and updated the assumptions for reliance on private facilities and <br />Joint Base Cape Cod. In Phase 2, a large portion of the centralized flow was to be directed to Joint Base Cape <br />Cod and Mashpee Commons which, at this time, is not a viable option. They are looking into finding a different <br />place to treat and recharge the flow. <br />It was stated that the Shellfish Propagation Program is currently being field verified with DNR findings. The <br />program is still scaling up and is not at the assumptions that were made for when it is at full scale. Based on <br />the findings it will be determined if it makes sense to bring the program to full scale or does it make sense to <br />look for a different strategy to offset the nitrogen. <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
