[Agenda topic 3] Spring Newsletter
Discussion: Suggestions for topics included Don writing about the new mooring rule Debi writing about
the sonde tubes deployed in the lake and the need for public to leave them alone. Pond study results thus
far would be another good topic. Barbara has the Bass tournament article completed.
Conclusion. The newsletter should be completed
o ......... _...__..__.___....._._w.v_._ ...... ...._.._....._ _ . .._ ..................... ...... .__._ m feted as soon as.._. ....
p possible.
{Agenda topic 4) Harbormaster Briefs
Discussion: a. As they did last year the Harbormaster will again keep a boat tied up to the dock at 20
Melissa Ave. and put the dock in for the owner the beginning of April.
b. Robert also mentioned that after inspection, he decided that there are enough swim buoys remaining
buoyant to mark off a swim area around the islands. Ashly mentioned that people are already moving
onto the islands.
The committee felt the lake was busiest in the afternoon and evening until boats were off the lake and
recommended harbormaster coverage for theses hours,
Conclusion: Swim areas will be marked off this year as in 2022. The harbormaster's boat has a place to
tie up on the lake for the boating season.
{Agenda topic 51, Speed Limit on
Mashpee Wakeby
Discussion: Tile speed limit presently is 45 MPH and many boaters exceed this. Mike stated many NE
states have limits of 30-35. Mike will write the Select board to try to add it to their agenda and at the same
time try to get the Town noise ordinance to cover waterways also. We acknowledge it is difficult to get an
accurate speed of boats on the water, but it should help with some speeders, especially jet skiers. The
committee would like to lower the speed limit on the lake and decrease noise levels. We will try to get this
on the fall Town Meeting agenda.
Conclusion: The committee would like to decrease boat speed and noise on the lake.
"[Agenda topic 6)" Rinse Station
Discussion: The committee felt that while the State Boat Ramp is being redesigned, it would be
appropriate to request the addition of a rinse station. A leaching system for drainage water could be added
back nearer Rt.130 away from the lake. Mike will write to the State Fishing and boating Access to request
this be added to the plans.
... _m_..w.. _.........._...a...w. ......_. ...... ...... .. ............ .... .... ._. ................... _.........
Conclusion. While redesigning the boat ramp would be an excellent time to add a rinse station.
The meeting was adjourned at 8 :14 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
J
Barbara B.Nichols
