<br /> <br />SHELLFISH COMMISSION <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />MAY 9, 2023 – 6:00PM <br />MASHPEE TOWN HALL – 16 GREAT NECK ROAD NORTH <br />WAQUOIT MEETING ROOM <br /> <br />PRESENT: Chair Peter Thomas, Co-Chair, Dick Cook, Daryl Christensen, Bill Holmes, Jaime Pachico, <br /> Buddy Pocknett <br /> <br />OTHER ATTENDEES: Ashley Fisher, Director of Natural Resources <br /> Tyler Grady, Water Quality Technician <br /> Chris Lucier, Natural Resources Officer <br /> <br />ABSENT: N/A <br /> <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Chair Thomas called the meeting to order in Open Session in the <br />Waquoit Meeting Room at 6:00PM. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: None at this time. <br /> <br />MINUTES: Discussion and approval of the April 11, 2023 Shellfish Commission Meeting minutes. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Christensen to accept the April 11, 2023 Shellfish Commission Meeting <br />minutes. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Cook. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: None at this time. <br /> <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br /> <br />1. Staffing update on the Natural Resources Officer open position and Seasonal Summer help. <br /> <br />Ashley Fisher introduced the recently hired Natural Resources Officer, Chris Lucier. Chris is a local with <br />exceptional knowledge of the water. <br />Seasonal Summer help is still in need of two more people. <br /> <br />2. Aquaculture Grants: Update on Jaime Pachico and John Quiterio Grant/Applications. <br /> <br />Ashley Fisher reported that the DMF has to do a site visit for Jaime Pachico. <br />John Quiterio is waiting to go before the Waterways Commission and Ashley is hoping it will happen this <br />month. <br />It was reported that there are hold ups due to the Army Corp of Engineers and there more than likely <br />won’t be any gear in the water this season. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
