ADA Committee Meeting Minutes \0aquoitK4eeting Room Thursday, March 9. 2O23 It was discussed that the AAB laws should be reviewed and possibly rewritten in regard to private property and employment versus ADA laws, which are less rigid. There was a discussion related to enforcement of codes and complaints, housing and employment. A guestfrom CORD also mentioned that restaurant menus should to be updated with QR codes available in large print and braille. Mr. Logan was another guest in attendance at the meeting. He serves on the Town Of Barnstable Disability Commission. He handed out tri-fo|d5 with the commission's purpose statement and meeting times. Mr. Logan would like to see Zoom meetings with captions. Unfortunately it is a costly module to add with a cost of approximately$30,000. The Town of Barnstable has an eleven member commission. They work with the OPVV on certain projects, the town architect and building commissioner related to parking projects, buildings and beaches. They received a grant through Mass Housing for the Disabled for $250\000. The grant was used to conduct an ADA survey and transition plan for town employees and buildings. They worked with the Institute for Human Centered Design. Mr. Logan suggested that DPW and ADAconnnoittee members attend Community Access Monitor training. |tis available onZoom. 2.
