<br />NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />1. Shellfish Constable’s Report. <br /> <br />Mr. Avis reported that all seed orders have been confirmed with Clam Daddy (2.5 million quahogs), Cape <br />Cod Oyster (500k oysters), ARC (1 million oysters and 5 million quahogs). <br /> <br />He stated that there are two new Flupsey docks in Ockway Bay that needed some additional retrofitting <br />and are currently up and running. The DPW has installed water and electricity and still have to install <br />110V plugs in the dock water and power unit as the plugs currently installed are 220V. Co-Chair Cook <br />offered his labor to expedite this process. <br />Mr. Avis said that it’s difficult to lock the panels so that nobody has access to them and that they are <br />installing cameras there to monitor the area as they are putting a boat there also. <br />Mr. Avis went on to report that 2 out of the 3 vessels received new lettering. <br /> <br />7 out of 15 nets have been pulled on Thatch Island. <br /> <br />A trough has been installed at the boat ramp at Ockway Bay in order to help mitigate rain runoff. <br /> <br />The land based tanks at Little River are all up and running after a few modifications. Mr. Avis stated that <br />they’ve installed additional pumps in order to increase flow. <br /> <br />It was reported that Jaimie Pachico is awaiting a site visit by the DMF with regard to his Aquaculture <br />Grant. <br />th <br />John Quiterio is scheduled to meet with the Waterways Commission on June 14. <br /> <br />Mr. Avis said that they’ve added weekend enforcement on both Bays, two hours before the tide and two <br />hours after the tide on each side. He stated that he has approached the Select Board to have the Water <br />Quality Technician, Tyler Grady and Natural Resources Officer, Chris Lucier deputized and have Rick <br />Santangelo reappointed as Deputy Shellfish Constables in order for them to assist in patrolling during <br />weekends. The next Select Board meeting is Monday, June 26, 2023. <br /> <br />Mr. Avis stated that the Department attended a 2 day oil response seminar with other, multiple agencies <br />and that Tyler Grady and Chris Lucier are now certified in oil response mitigation. <br /> <br />th <br />The Harbor Management Plan continues to evolve and the next meeting is scheduled for July 13 from <br />4:00pm to 6:00pm at New Seabury Country Club ballroom. All are welcomed. <br /> <br />The subject of portable toilets and trash receptacles being provided at the boat ramps was brought up by <br />Co-Chair Cook. Mr. Avis said that it would have to be directed to the DPW.
