Nichols <br /> Attendees: Members: Barbara Nichols, Don MacDonald <br /> Guests: Ashley Fisher DNR <br /> The minutes of the May 23, 2023 meeting were accepted as written after a motion by Don MacDonald <br /> and second by Barbara Nichols. <br /> Agenda topics <br /> [Agenda topic 11 Lake level/River outflow <br /> Discussion: Debi did the lake measurements on June 3St and 17th. There were 55.2 and 55.3 feet above sea <br /> level. There were 12 and 13 inches of water were flowing over the board closest to the lake. On the 3rd <br /> there were 11 inches of water in the stream and 11.5 inches on the 17th- The new metal gauge by DPW <br /> increased from 10.5 to 11 during this time period. Barbara measured 6.1 inches of rain in her gauge from <br /> mid- May to mid-June. <br /> Levels were reported to Drew McManus in Conservation. <br /> Conclusions: The water levels have increased slightly. <br /> [Agenda topic 2] Pond Study <br /> Discussion: Ed Eichner from TMDL Solutions and SMAST Coastal Systems is continuing with the <br /> second year of study which runs until June 2024. This study gives an opportunity to discover what caused <br /> the cyanobacteria bloom, in latter June the past two years. The scientists feel the lakes reached their <br /> "tipping point"three years ago. Wakeby is in worse condition. <br /> Conclusions: The pond study, set to be completed in June 2024, continues to collect data. <br /> [Agenda topic 31 Spring Newsletter <br /> Discussion: The MWLMC newsletter was put online by Clay Nicholson, under our committee on the <br /> town web site and Barbara put another half dozen copies out in the lobby at Town Hall. <br /> . . .. ........ ...... <br /> Conclusion: The newsletter is now completed. <br />
