Town of Mashpee Historic District Commission <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> The Commissioners had no issue with the proposed refacing of the existing double sided free standing <br /> sign along the properties frontage. <br /> Following the presentation by the Applicant and discussion by the Commissioners,the Chair sought <br /> public comment in relation to the application. Seeing none,the Chair sought a motion to close the <br /> Public Hearing. <br /> MOTION: Dennis Balzarini motioned to close the Public Hearing. The motion was seconded by <br /> Maureen Paxton and unanimously approved. <br /> After discussing the Commissioners' concerns, Chairman Hyde sought a motion to approve the <br /> installation of new channel letters on the south elevation reading"Dunkin" on the condition that the <br /> channel letters have no internal illumination or halo lighting,to authorize the installation of the <br /> replacement panel for the existing double sided free standing sign as proposed, and to reject the <br /> installation of externally illuminated vinyl letters on the east elevation, as well as the installation of the <br /> drive-through clearance bar as proposed. <br /> MOTION: Dennis Balzarini made the motion as noted above. Maureen Paxton seconded the motion. <br /> All voted unanimously. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> The Town Planner proposed to the Historic District Commission that they hold a public hearing to <br /> authorize categorical approval of commercial paint colors in the Historic District as well as for the <br /> installation of roof mounted solar panels. The purpose of this agenda item at today's meeting was to <br /> determine the support of the Commission to make these changes. The Planner proposes having the <br /> Commissioners pre-approve historic color pallets widely available from the larger paint manufacturers <br /> and retailers such as Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore. Further he proposes administrative review <br /> and approval if applicable of roof mounted solar in the Historic District. He reiterated the necessity to <br /> hold a public hearing to effectuate these changes and asked the Chair if he would take a motion to that <br /> effect. Chairman Hyde sought a motion to authorize staff to set a public hearing as discussed. <br /> MOTION: Dennis Balzarini made the motion as noted above. Maureen Paxton seconded the motion. <br /> All voted unanimously. <br /> The Planner reported to the Commissioners that the existing vacancies on the Commission create <br /> scheduling challenges for the Planning Department and that he would be working to try to fill those <br /> vacancies. He hopes to have candidates for the Commission's consideration at their next meeting. <br /> 2 <br />
