Finance Committee Minutes August 10, 2023 Talia Landry, as Lead Petitioner of Article 13 of the Draft Town Warrant, provided an explanation of this Article seeking the Town’s conveyance of Parcel No’s: 28-2-0 (35 Lave Ave.), 36-80-0 (409 Main St.) and 28-3-0 (415 Main St.) to the Tribe with the intent to construct a true replica of a Wampanoag Village. Ms. Landry explained she has obtained grant funds to develop a pre-contact home site on the land. She stated that the overall mission is to recreate the same village that was previously there during the 1970’s depicting daily life and will provide historical, educational and cultural information to the Tribal Community as well at the General Public. This Article will require a 2/3 vote at Town Meeting. 2. Discuss and take action on Warrant Articles #’s 10, 11, 12 and 13 in DRAFT #1 of which the Committee currently has on hold. A motion was made by Mrs. Furbush to remove the Hold on Article #11 of the Draft Town Warrant. Motion seconded by Jamie Schuh. Motion passed by Unanimous Consent. A motion was made by Mr. McKelvey to Make No Recommendation on Article #11 of the Draft Town Warrant. Motion seconded by Mr. Weiner. This motion was subsequently withdrawn. A motion was made by Glenn Thompson to Not Recommend Article #11 of the Draft Town Warrant. Motion seconded by Mr. McKelvey.
