<br /> <br /> Mashpee Economic Development Industrial Corporation (EDIC) <br />Minutes – April 25, 2023 <br />6:00 PM <br />Ockway Meeting Room <br />Mashpee Town Hall <br /> <br />Present: Carol Sherman, Denise Dutson, Rick Cayer, Pamela McCarthy, Glenn <br />Thompson <br /> <br />Absent: Robyn Simmons, Patrice Pimental <br /> <br />Guests: Sarah Chace, Mashpee Commons <br /> <br />1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br />Carol Sherman opened the meeting at 6:02 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Approval of 3/14/2023 minutes <br />Denise Dutson moved that the committee approve the 3/14/2023 minutes, Glenn Thompson <br />seconded, the committee approved. <br /> <br />3. Finance Report: The EDIC has a balance of $305,331 in its money market account and <br />$22,400.48 in the checking account. Interest earned was $5.18 <br /> <br />4. Mashpee Commons Update <br />Sarah Chace gave an update on Mashpee Commons. <br /> <br />Businesses coming to the Commons: <br /> <br />National businesses: <br />National businesses are now considering the Commons to be a suburban area, and not a resort <br />area like in the past. This is due to more people living here year round, this demographic change <br />has made the Commons and Mashpee a more attractive place for these businesses.The national <br />businesses that are now at the Commons is LuLu Lemon and J. Jill. There is also interest from <br />a company in the old Lane Bryant space (it’s very large and has been challenging to fill that <br />space.) <br /> <br />Regional businesses: <br />● Island Outfitters opened at the Commons last week <br />● Anchor 2 Anchor is opening next week <br />● Hatcheville Cookie is open and operating <br />● GFaceMD (a med spa and skincare line) is going to open in August <br /> <br />Independent businesses: <br />● Duane Brothers, a husband and wife team, is a fast-casual seafood restaurant that is <br />opening in the Commons. <br /> <br />
