Town of Mashpee <br /> roc. zero 16 Great Neck Road Not-Ili, <br /> Afashpee, MA 02649 <br /> ww <br /> '�p�rQMIJH'M.1y4. <br /> ADA Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> Ockway Meeting Room <br /> Thursday, May 11, 2023 <br /> Present: Merrill Blum, David Morris, Colleen Meehan, and Kim Landry <br /> Absent: Jaime Curley and John Cotton <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The meeting opened and was called to order by Mr. Blum at 2:15 PM. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> A Motion was made by Ms. Meehan and seconded by Mr. Morris to approve the draft meeting <br /> minutes dated March 9, 2023; all members present were in favor. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. Return to Monthly Committee meetings <br /> After a brief discussion as to whether or not the committee should meet monthly instead of <br /> every other month, Ms. Meehan made a motion to continue to meet every other month but <br /> put a focus on action items by disseminating information to members via email prior to the <br /> next scheduled meeting for review. Members are then prepared to vote or take any action <br /> related thereto to keep business moving forward. The committee voted unanimously in <br /> favor of Ms. Meehan's motion. <br /> 2. Request to Increase the Size of the Committee Membership <br /> The committee decided not to request to increase the size of the committee at this point <br /> and noted that there is a current opening for an alternate member to serve. <br /> 3. New Construction — MOD Response <br /> Mr. Blum had made an inquiry via email in January to Jeff Duggan, Assistant Director for <br /> Community Services with MOD (Massachusetts Office on Disability) with questions related <br /> to new construction and building requirements for disabled. Mr. Duggan had stated as part <br /> of his reply that designated new construction for apartments require that 5% of the units <br /> 1 <br />
