AUGUST 23,2023 <br /> MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> He and the Deputy Fire Chief visited the site earlier in the day of the meeting, (August 23rd), and <br /> both had concerns because these winged structures do not have a sprinkler system and are not up <br /> to NFPA or CMR Fire codes. The main building does have a sprinkler system. <br /> The Fire Chief mentioned that he has no issue with an extension for the construction to be <br /> completed, however he wanted to confirm with Attorney Kirrane if the owners plan to ask the <br /> Board if they can keep the winged structures. He emphasized to the Board that his concern is to <br /> sprinkler those two wings if the owners request to keep them. He mentioned that the construction <br /> had stopped and it is three years passed the 2020 meeting. <br /> Chairman Bonvie mentioned that he now has more to consider and remembers the request for these <br /> extensions. He is willing to accept the extension until December 3 1" and if another conversation <br /> with the Board is required,it will then include a discussion with the Fire Chief and the requirements <br /> regarding the winged structures, and the outstanding supply issues. <br /> Attorney Kirrane suggested to the Board that he will have a discussion with his client before <br /> requesting another extension that there be a conversation with Fire Chief Phelan. <br /> Fire Chief Phelan mentioned he had a conversation with the CEO and was very cooperative. <br /> Chairman Bonvie mentioned that as he is a representative of the Town,he has to be aware of these <br /> concerns. <br /> Mr. Rivera approached the Board and said he had a discussion with the developer that the client <br /> decided to remove the rear winged structure. <br /> Attorney Kirrane mentioned that any requests for this project will require a formal meeting with <br /> the Board. <br /> Mr.Morris said he had a conversation with the construction supervisor for the project and told him <br /> that he could not keep those winged structures. Mr. Morris questioned if the winged structures <br /> could be removed and complete the construction and receive a Certificate of Occupancy approved <br /> by all the departments by December 31, 2023. <br /> Mr. Furbush made a motion to close the public comments. Mr. Reidy second. <br /> The Board had a discussion regarding the completion of the project that includes the demolition <br /> of the winged structures. <br /> Attorney Kirrane stated that the conditions are already mentioned in the Special Permit. <br /> 8 <br />
