Mr. Goldstein stepped down.
Attorney Christopher Kirrane represented the applicant's request for an extension until December
31, 2023. Attorney Kirrane mentioned that there are five major reasons that are delaying the
construction due to supply and demand; an electrical panel, a lighting package, the flooring, fire
pump for the sprinklers, and an elevator. The original permit was extended and approved by the
Board until August 31, 2023.
Mr. Morris believes that the request is warranted. He said that the building is currently under
construction and will require a Certificate of Occupancy. He suggested that a longer extension
would be more realistic given the supply and demand issues.
Chairman Bonvie is willing to give a longer extension but a date that is more realistic for the
applicant to get the project completed. He asked for any comments from the audience.
Fire Chief Phelan approached the Board and mentioned that three years ago the Board allowed an
extension of the construction of two temporary wing structures, but these two temporary structures
do not have a sprinkler system and they do not meet the fire codes.Mr.Phelan said that two months
ago his employees toured the site and the construction was moving along, and his team was
satisfied with the progress. However two weeks ago he noticed that the area was fenced in and all
the equipment was removed, and the construction stopped.
7
