The CPC Chair expressed concern as the Affordable <br /> Housing Trust has not voted to submit this application. <br /> Wayne Taylor,Assistant Town Manager indicated it is the intention of the Affordable Housing <br /> Trust to meet on June 26, 2023 to discuss the submission of this application. <br /> Chairman Russell recommended the Committee defer action until after the June 26,2023 <br /> meeting of the Affordable Housing Trust. <br /> With the groundbreaking of the LeClair Village, 39 units of affordable housing,there is a strong <br /> objective to maintain the momentum in sustaining affordable housing in the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Mi. Taylor indicated that having additional monies would allow the Affordable Housing Trust to <br /> leverage funding to provide support for the construction of affordable housing. This would <br /> include feasibility studies and support of in-house and outside initiatives. At this time,there is <br /> an interest in securing property located in the vicinity of Route 28 and Sampsons Mill Road, a <br /> 10-acre site of Town owned land suitable for clustered affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity <br /> is also moving forward with affordable housing development plans at sites located in the area of <br /> Quinaquissett Avenue,Mashpee. <br /> At their May 4, 2023 meeting,the Community Preservation Committee recommended the <br /> Affordable Housing Trust when considering their Vision Statement include an Action Plan. In <br /> considering the list of 9 goals prioritized in the project application, it was requested the applicant <br /> provide a list of addresses that are under consideration for the development of affordable <br /> housing. <br /> It was noted that at the last CPA funding round, an allocation of$550,000 was authorized by the <br /> CPC and by a vote of Town Meeting to the Affordable Housing Trust for affordable housing <br /> purposes. <br /> Mr. Taylor indicated it is hopeful the nine-member Affordable Housing Trust would become <br /> more active as a Board meeting regularly on a quarterly basis. <br />
