Roll Call Vote: <br /> <br /> <br />Alexandra Zollo (Yes) <br />Steven Cook (Yes) <br />Marjorie Clapprood (Yes) <br />Sandra Godfrey (Yes) <br /> <br /> <br />Paul Colombo (Yes) <br /> Communication/Correspondence: (public comment solicited for each update) <br /> <br /> <br />The Commission has received notification of a upcoming civil lawsuit regarding 25 <br />5 – 0 (unanimous) <br />Menemsha Road. All records have been requested which the Commission is gathering. <br />The Town Clerk started the clock after receiving questions from the Agent. (FOIA <br />request) <br /> <br />Regarding a proposed cell tower, the Cape Cod Commission has asked that no <br />permitting be approved until Development Regional Impact has been provided. Mr. <br />Colombo was not sure if the Commission had jurisdiction, however, given the proposed <br />location although this could be determined later. Mr. Kent noted this could depend on <br />the type of cell tower proposed (e.g. cables) and possibly within 100’ of a vernal pool. <br /> <br /> <br /> Discussion: <br /> <br />Mashpee Water Quality: Issues and initiatives (ongoing discussion item). Mr. Kent <br />informed the Commission about bioreactor research (An article in the Commissioners’ <br />packet). There are tests into nitrite conversion to nitrates providing fertilizer for eel grass. <br />Mr. Kent noted this is a promising concept.to deal with the nitrite problem. <br /> <br />Updates <br /> <br />o Red Brook Road Culvert (Waquoit Bay Research Reserve-grant assistance). <br />th <br />Assistant Agent to attend Association meeting on Sept. 9. Discussion took <br />place with association representatives from both Mashpee and Falmouth <br />regarding the sale of association property abutting Redbrook for the purposes <br />of restoration. The current temperature of the associations is that they are in <br />favor of this potential land sale and subsequent restoration. A letter of intent <br />has been filed. <br />o Upper Quashnet Restoration- APCC to assist with upcoming NOAA funding <br />to expand wetland restoration to the degree feasible in the upper Quashnet <br />Bogs. Some area of bog overgrowth does serve as significant wildlife habitat <br />and thus should not be disturbed as part of a restoration scenario; however, <br />there is potential to expand wetland restoration from the current scope. <br />o Bylaw Review subcommittee Updates: Agent will schedule the next meeting <br />when schedule allows for it. Agent is currently dealing with family issues that <br />significantly limit available time <br />o Johns Pond and Santuit Pond Milfoil: Ongoing correspondence with <br />Wampanoag Tribe regarding their invasive species grant funding. Status of <br />available funds has yet to be determined. Town has some funding set aside for <br /> <br />
