<br />treatment of invasive species, but more funding is needed based on <br />assessment of invasive aquatic plants and scope of work from Water and <br />Wetlands LLC (consultant that performed invasive species survey on Santuit <br />Pond) <br />o Chop Chaque Bog Restoration: Notice of Intent to be filed by Horsley Witten <br />th <br />Group for October 5 public meeting of the commission <br />o Local Comprehensive Plan No new updates <br />o Land Acquisition Sub-Committee: Status of land acquisition incorporated into <br />EOC agenda as ongoing agenda item <br />o Herring Warden updates: Herring exodus continues at all three runs. Runs to <br />be cleaned/flushed of debris once out migration has concluded…typically mid- <br />late November. The run has been getting clogged and needs to be fixed. <br />o Harbor Management Committee: No new updates. Next meeting is <br />th <br />September 26. <br />o Mashpee River updates: NRCS funding paperwork has been signed and sent <br />to NRCS for signatures on their end. $300,000 to fund all expenses related to <br />design, planning and permitting for restoration of the Mashpee River herring run <br />and specific areas of erosion along the upper Mashpee River from the outlet at <br />Mashpee Pond to the culvert under Great Neck Rd North. Mr. Kent is working <br />on grants to obtain more funds. Ms. Zollo noted that a grant writing position <br />approved by the Town – No news. <br /> <br />Wrapping up Mr. Colombo informed the Commission the Splash for Mashpee Wakeby is <br />Sunday noting there will be boats only due to water quality issues.
