NEW BUSINESS

Woods Hole Group Dack Stuart

Mr. Stuart has collected sediment Ockway Bay and Popponesset Bay. He went through
a presentation on the samples obtained. He noted no shellfish in the samples and the
muddy nature of the samples. Bottom line, the dredging will be costly due to the need
to dispose of the dredged material. Mr. Tomaino noted that the ideal depth was 4 ½ feet
at low tide. The permitting would involve a MEPA review. Approximately 29K of
material would need to be removed. Ms. Fisher noted that Massachusetts dredging
requirements are difficult and cumbersome and there would be a permitting issue.
Given the Town’s interest, it would be something that Harbor Management Committee
would explore.

Chapter 91 Meeting –

Ms. Fisher is in the process of setting up a meeting with Chapter 91 and UHI how to tie
in permitting and enforcement. (What the Town can do) Ms. Fisher hopes to report
back to the Committee at the next meeting.

Docks and Piers Survey – Nicholas Warner (FOR NEXT TIME)

Mr. Warner is doing great work to determine if there needs to be a moratorium. Ms.
Fisher hopes for him to make a presentation.

There being no further topics, Mr. Avis made a motion to adjourn which was seconded by Mr.
Noonan. This was unanimously approved. (@ 7:20 pm)
.

Respectfully submitted,

Bradford Pierce, Board Secretary
Harbor Management Committee
