<br /> <br />Town of Mashpee <br /> 16 Great Neck Rd North <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> <br />d <br />Harbor Management Committee <br />th <br />For Tuesday July 25 , 2023 <br />Waquoit Meeting Room <br />16 Great Neck Road North <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT MEMBERS ABSENT ALSO IN ATTENDANCE <br />Ashley Fisher, Director of Natural Resources Dale Oakley, Mashpee Allison Novelly, Urban Harbors Institute <br />Christopher Avis, Shellfish Constable Wampanoag Tribal Member Kristin Uiterwyk, Urban Harbors Institute <br />Evan Lehrer, Town Planner (Remotely) Robert Tomaino, Harbor Master <br />Michaela Wyman-Colombo, Select Board Member <br />Andrew McManus, Conservation Agent (Remotely) <br />Richard Noonan, Waterways Commission Representative <br />Richard Cook, Shellfish Commission Representative <br /> <br />Ms. Fisher called the meeting to order at 6:01 pm. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />There was no public comment. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />None was received <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES <br /> <br />6/27/2023 – Mr. Avis made a motion to accept the minutes as presented which was seconded <br />by Mr. Noonan. These were unanimously approved. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />nd <br /> Overview of 2 Outreach Event – Ms. Fisher thought the event was quite lively and <br />wanted to know how the event went. Ms. Uiterwijk thought the numbers were good <br />and well received. However, there were not many new topics raised. Ms. Novelly <br />thought the turnout was less than hoped but allowed for great conversations with the <br />attendees appreciating the information that was shared. Mr. Noonan added that sharing <br />the complexity of dredging with attendees was a great opportunity – Cost and <br />regulatory complexity. Mr. Avis noted that there needed to be more education on <br />aquaculture. Mr. Cook echoed this sentiment noting some of the interaction was <br />contentious and people believe the bay is their back yard which it is not, and people still <br />have the right to shellfish – working bay not merely for recreation. Ms. Fisher noted <br />that it goes back to education. In terms of water quality, Ms. Wyman-Colombo noted <br /> <br />
