Pown (#"Alashpee
xassu;p z" )d(U [lov, Ma,"'tiatt°1r.u:cUs 02fa49
Minutes of Meeting of
Design Review Committee
Tuesday, May 4, 2021
Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room
Design Review Committee Members Present: Dave Morris, Jonathan
Furbush, Joe Callahan, Miles Peters and Tyler Gaudreau.
Dave called the meeting to order at 8:30 am being held as a virtual remote
meeting.
8:30 am Project Address: 0 Country Club Lane
Business Name: Prime Homes Realty
Owner/Agent: Ken Marsters
Request: Propose to construct a 55 sq. ft. development
sign for Country Club Estates (no building).
Ken Marsters represented his sign project for the Country Club Estates. He
provided a revised sign rendering that depicted white lettering and a green
background. The sign will be surrounded by a stone wall with a white fence
at the entrance of the property.
Chairman Furbush mentioned that he looked at the other signs in Town,
and took pictures of other locations with similar entrances to
developments. He thought the size of the proposed sign was too large.
Dave mentioned Section 174-54 (H) that the size of the sign should not
exceed 20 sq. ft. He said that because the sign is oversized, it will require
a filing with the ZBA.
Miles mentioned that the lettering on the sign is out of proportion with the
size of the fence that surrounds it. He said that the green around the
lettering is too small in scale. He likes the green oval shape, but the
rendering looks flat and suggested that the lettering have more depth.
Ken said that the lettering is 2 inches thick, and is slightly protruded to give
the sign its depth.
Tyler agreed that the size is larger than what is allowed. In terms of the sign
design, it's important to clearly delineate between the Country Club Estates
and the existing golf course. He said that it is achieved by having the large
letters of Country Club Estates, but the size could be smaller.
i
