Review of Citizens Interest Forms for Committee Vacancies
Committee member Ms. Landry will schedule the three residents who expressed interest
in serving on the ADA for an interview at the next committee meeting being held on
January 131". Ms. Landry informed the committee that she had heard back from two of
the three residents after sending an email to all in mid -October to inquire about
availability and continued interest in serving.
2. Handicapped parking at Mashpee Commons Oktoberfest — resident email
An email that was received on October 2, 2021 by former Vice Chair, Sidney Davis, was
reviewed. The email addressed concerns over the lack of handicapped spaces available at
the Mashpee Commons Oktoberfest 2021 event. Ms. Landry shared the conversation that
she had with Recreation Director Mary Bradbury in regards to temporary handicapped
space availability at the Oktoberfest. Director Bradbury stated that generally temporary
handicapped parking spaces have been designated on the dirt driveway on the side of the
green; however, there is currently a white tent with barricades in that area. The tent is
used by a company who offers spin classes. The plan is for them to be located there
indefinitely. The Recreation Director did ask Mashpee Commons to discuss the possibility
of the company not holding their regularly scheduled classes on the day of Oktoberfest
and they said no. Director Bradbury recognized there was a shortfall and admitted that it
was an oversight on the part of Recreation to not follow-up on the temporary
handicapped parking spaces and that it will be addressed for future Oktoberfests. She
appreciated Mr. Davis' email in regards to the handicapped parking availability. Ms.
Landry will send a follow-up email to Mr. Davis to provide a summary of the conversation
with Director Bradbury.
