NEW BUSINESS: <br /> I. Shellfish Constable's Report. <br /> Chris Avis introduced Chris Lucier the Natural Resources Officer to the Commission. Chris has been <br /> employed with the Town since April and divides his time between the Harbor Master and the Natural <br /> Resources Department. <br /> Mr. Avis reported that Clam Daddy came through with F oysters. They personally delivered 590,000. <br /> ARC still owes the Town 319,000 R-6 oysters from the past and Chris will be picking up 36,000 of'/z"seed <br /> and 145,000 of R-12's tomorrow. This will fulfill the entire seed order. <br /> It was reported that all of the vessels will be pulled by Thursday due to the impending storm, Hurricane <br /> Lee. <br /> The Department continues to set up the Thatch Island area for the nursery. The area around Thatch Island, <br /> outside of the 3 aquaculture areas, is open to both commercial and recreational shellfishing. 24 floating <br /> cages have been added at Mashpee River with oysters from the nursery at Thatch Island. 32 cages of larger, <br /> sorted seed have been placed to the right of the boat ramp at Ockway Bay.
