<br />A motion made by Meredith Harris to accept and approve the website as is. <br />Motion was seconded by Chad Smith. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed some minor changes. Mr. Lyons suggested changing the wording, Lateral <br />Connection to, Property Owner’s Lateral Connection. <br />Meredith suggested contacting Mashpee TV and the Enterprise to announce office hours at different times <br />and locations to instruct residents on how to navigate the site. <br /> <br />2. Construction Update-GHD. <br />Sandra Tripp gave a construction update of the past Month. It was reported that tanks, channels and floors <br />are currently being placed at the WWRF. Process building tank walls continue to be erected. <br /> <br />There is currently a lot of paving activity going on at the Collection System North area. Gravity sewer has been <br />installed on High Sachem and they are continuing miscellaneous lateral and drainage work. They are finishing <br />up on Carlton Drive and working their way towards the plant. Force main will be going in on Orchards Road. <br />th <br />It’s important to note that final pavement work will be commencing on Route 28 beginning on October 10 <br />and they are anticipating it will last for 4 days. Detours and rerouting is expected. <br /> <br />With regard to the Collection System South; the gravity sewer through Summerwood has been completed and <br />there has been manhole installations, lateral installations and manhole vacuum testing. <br />They are currently pressure testing on Mashpee Neck Road, Ship’s Wheel Drive and Ship’s Rudder Drive. <br />Masonry work is complete at the pump stations on Mashpee Neck Road and Falmouth Road. <br />Sandra reported that 2 of the gravity sewers didn’t pass the pressure test and will need to be repaired. They <br />are on Ship’s Rudder and Ship’s Lantern. <br />The roofing and siding will be getting installed at the 2 pump stations. <br />st <br />Paving will be taking place on Simon’s Narrow, Shipwreck, Porthole and Ship’s Rudder after November 1. <br />Foundations have been poured for the electrical building and wet well at the Falmouth Road pump station. <br /> <br />It was reported that the cash flow for the WWRF is tracking slightly below expected expenditures. <br />The Collection System North is tracking ahead of expected expenditures. <br />The Collection System South is tracking ahead of expected expenditures. <br /> <br />Mr. Lyons requested a parallel mapping of how far along to completion of Phase 1 they are currently tracking. <br />A chart showing funds dispersed to percentage of the project completed to date. <br /> <br />3. Discussion of Town Meeting Warrant Article #1. <br />It was discussed and explained that this Article is for the funding of the plan and design of Phase 2 which <br />includes the options that were removed from Phase 1 to get the project started. <br />Mr. Towle inquired about the Finance Committee vote Not to Recommend Article #1. Chair Smith explained <br />that the Finance Committee did their job in this area, watching out for the Town and that he has no problem <br />with their vote. <br />Vice-Chair Harris explained that there is a balance that the Town will have to face with the looming DEP rulings <br />mandating that the amount of nitrogen in our water must be reduced by 75% and could lead to everyone <br />having to install an IA system at the cost of upwards of 60 to 80 thousand dollars. She stated that there are <br />Federal, State and Private funding sewers able to be had as the sewer project expands. <br />Chair Smith stated that it is crucial to have a firm plan in place before any funding can be applied for. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
