There being no further comments or discussion Ernest Virgilio motioned to approve the paint <br />booth at 131 Industrial Drive on the condition that the Health Agent do an inspection and if a <br />nuisance complaint is filed by a neighbor the Board of Health will send a cease and desist order <br />until the theme nuisance is abated. Brian Baumgaertel seconded. Roll Call Vote: Brian <br />Baumgaertel (yes), Ernest Virgilio (yes). VOTE: Unanimous (2-0) <br />4. 2024 Budget. Mr. Seabury commented The Town Manager's budget memorandum directed <br />Department Heads to provide a level service budget for "operational efficiency and priorities." <br />To that end, two decreases and three increases were proposed, but the overall Board of Health <br />budget request saw a 23% reduction. <br />A 50% reduction was proposed for the COVID line item, lowering it from $20K to $10K, and <br />renaming the line item to include all new and emerging "infectious disease." <br />A 39% reduction was proposed for the STIR Monitoring line item, due to negotiations that <br />resulted in a 3-year contract with a new company that offered a more favorable rate. <br />A 78% increase was requested for the Overtime line item, to cover additional after-hours work <br />performed by the Administrative Secretary, specifically to transcribe the backlog of BOH <br />meetings minutes. <br />With the addition of the Code Compliance Inspector position and the rising costs of enrollment <br />fees for professional development and memberships, increases were proposed for both the <br />Dues & Memberships line item and the Professional Development line item. <br />There being no further comments or discussion Ernest Virgilio motioned to approve the 2024 <br />Board of Health budget. Brian Baumgaertel seconded. Roll Call Vote: Ernest Virgilio (yes), Brian <br />Baumgaertel (yes) VOTE: Unanimous (2-0) <br />S. Edward Raposa <br />Mr. Raposa called this morning and is unable to attend. Mr. Raposa is currently retired and <br />formally worked for Raposa Construction. <br />Ernest Virgilio motioned to adjourn the Board of Health meeting held on Thursday, October 6, <br />2022 meeting. Brian Baumgaertel seconded.
