NIVANANUM Mashpee - Wakeby Lake Management Committee September 26,2023 7:00 PM w..ww... _... ....Mashpee Town Hall Meeting called by: Debi McManus Type of meeting: Monthly Secretary: Barbara B.Nichols Attendees: Members: Barbara Nichols, Paul Bibo, Don MacDonald Guests: The minutes of the July 25 2023 meeting were accepted as written after a motion by Barbara Nichols and second by Don MacDonald. Agenda topics [Agenda topic 11 Lake level/River outflow Discussion: Debi did the lake measurements on August I`and 15th. The were 55.2 and 55.3 feet above sea level. There were 10 inches of water were flowing over the board closest to the lake on the lst which increased to 13.5 on the 15th. On the 1 st. there were 10,5 inches of water in the stream and 14 inches on the 15th. The new metal gauge by DPW increased from 12 to 13 inches during this time. Barbara measured 3.45 inches of rain in her gauge from mid-July to mid-August. Levels were reported to Drew McManus in Conservation. Barbara emailed Drew September 3`d. about the cage being damaged and he said he would check it out and repair if necessary. Debi also did the measurements on Septemberl st and 1 Sth. The lake level dropped from 55.2 to 55.1 ft. above sea level. Water flowing over the board decreased from 14 to 11.5 inches and the stream level dropped from 12 to 10.5 inches. The DPW gauge dropped from 12.5 to 10 inches. Barbara measured 2.1 inches of rain in her rain gauge from mid-August to mid-September. Conclusions: The water levels remain stable.
