2. Discussed the Early Voting In-Person for the May 6, 2023 Town Election. New Vote
act of 2022 requires that the Select Board have to vote to approve this option. The
proposed dates for this In-Person voting would be at Town Hall from April 19-26 and
the hours would be 8:30-4:30. The voters will still be able to Vote by Mail if they
choose. The town will also have to pay for postage when the ballots are mailed out.
The Board of Registrars must vote to recommend Early- in-Person Voting
Yvonne made a motion to hold Early Voting for one week
Deb seconded the motion and stated it was not an additional cost because we were
working in the building anyway. She said that 50% of the Registrars have to agree.
Yes Vote No Vote
Ernest
Yvonne
Alexa
Deb
A vote must now be taken with the Select Board to opt for that option also. Ernie asked
what does the Select Board vote on? Deb responded a change to the Polling Place and
reduced hours for Election Day.
3. Informing the Board about how we are now able to process ballots before voting day,
called Advanced Removal and Advanced Processing. The mailed and early ballots are the
ones that are handled. The results of the votes are not available till the end of Election
Day,the only information known is how many ballots were processed.
5. Information of 2 new Election Wardens to bring the total to 5, one for each precinct. The
experienced Wardens will help to train the new ones who do some have experience on at
the polls.
Ernie asked if the Board need to be at the Select Board meeting when Deb presented the
new Polling Places and Early-in-Person voting? Deb said that was not necessary.
OLD BUSINESS
None at this time.
ADDITIONAL TOPICS
Nothing was discussed outside of the agenda.
Adjourned 5:25 ).m.
