Public Call in Number (508)-539-1400 x 8585 APPROVED: 05/16/2023 Present: Winnie Johnson-Graham, Dan Kupferman, Richard Klein, Rachel Hicks, Mohamad Fahd, Rowela Kent, Patricia DeBoer, Kim Landry, Amna Iqbal, Jayden Bryant, Mashpee Enterprise Representative - Mackenzie Ryan Absent Absent: Chair Marie Stevenson, Gail Wilson, Katie Hennessey CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Johnson-Graham at 5:20P.M. LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Today we acknowledge this meeting is being held on ancestral lands of the Wampanoag Tribe, also known as People of the first Light. We pay respects to their elders past and present. Read by Ms. Kent. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: January 17, 20223 Postponed until April. MEMBER UPDATES Column – Dan Kupferman Mr. Kupferman stated Friday’s column was about Marie Younger Blackburn, she was the Key Note Speaker from our first Race Amity Day. He has some ideas for future write ups but is looking for more from members, if possible. He had trouble getting in touch with someone from the Wampanoag Housing Authority. He presumes it is a similar issue when he approached the Mashpee Housing Authority, and they were not comfortable with him writing about residents. Ms. Johnson-Graham said she will look into it and speak with them about getting in contact with him. She thinks some of them will be open to sharing their stories. She knows of some Tribal members having disputes and thinks things could be better. Hopefully at the next meeting she will have more to report. Mr. Fahd noted some insights about the Mashpee Housing Authority. They could attempt again by going a different route. 1
