Mashpee Inclusion and Diversity Committee <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br />Mashpee, MA 02649 <br />Ms. Stevenson made a correction to page two after first paragraph, where it mentions Bourne <br />Diversity Day. She had a lead for an ASL person for Race Amity Day through a Bourne <br />representative. Corrections made. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br />Mr. Kupferman made a motion to accept the meeting minutes as amended. Seconded by <br />Mr. Brandt. All in favor. <br /> <br />MEMBER UPDATES <br />Column – Dan Kupferman <br />The column came out Friday, and this month is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage <br />Month. It is also mental health awareness month. He touched on both topics and wrapped it up <br />th <br />with Race Amity Day and the festival on June 11. <br /> <br />Ms. Stevenson commented that she does not check the Committee email often and there was <br />a reply from a man who read the column and was writing to Mr. Kupferman. <br /> <br />Mr. Kupferman stated it was Paul Rifkin and they met and discussed some topics. He <br />disagreed with some things in the column, but overall they had a nice exchange. <br /> <br />Coalition Meeting – Webmaster <br />Cape Cod South Shore Diversity Coalition is up to 35 members. There was an email about <br />Major Crystal Rogers Reed from Otis on having an Equity and Inclusion Council. She will invite <br />them to join the Coalition. They are seeking someone who could help with web information as <br />she is not very good with computers. <br /> <br />Human Rights Club – Diversity Day, Who We Are, Video, Human Rights Academy <br />Human Rights Academy happened yesterday and Mashpee was the Key Note presenters with <br />Who We Are. It was quick but it went well. There were over 100 high school students from all <br />over Cape Cod. This legacy project was funded by the Mashpee Cultural Council and the <br />second exhibit’s reception is Sunday night from 7:00p.m. – 9:00p.m. with a new series of <br />pictures. She has invitations for the event at the Library. Last year’s exhibit will hang in the <br />Senior Center and possibly the Town Hall. <br /> <br />There was a nice dedication of the Hall of Flags as one Senior Project. It was dedicated to the <br />teacher who inspired the idea who has since passed, Michael Ford. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
