3 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> September 14, 2023 <br /> Present: Arden Russell,Brian Hyde,Mary Waygan,Lynne Barbee, <br /> Richard Klein,Michaela Wyman-Colombo, Sandi Godfrey <br /> Absent: Dawn Thayer <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Russell at 6:35 p.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> MINUTES <br /> Thursday July 6, 2023 Regular Session: The minutes were deferred to the next meeting. <br /> APPOINTMENTS &HEARINGS <br /> Public Hearing—Informational Meeting on the Needs Possibilities and Resources of the Town <br /> of Mashpee as they relate to Historic Preservation Recreation Affordable Housing and Open <br /> Space for the funding of projects at the May 2024 Town Meeting: <br /> Members of the Community Preservation Committee opened the Public Hearing on the needs, <br /> possibilities and resources of the Town of Mashpee as they related to Historic Preservation, <br /> Recreation, Affordable Housing and Open Space in preparation for the funding of projects at the <br /> May 2024 Town Meeting. The Hearing notice was read aloud into the record in accordance with <br /> posting procedures. <br /> A pamphlet relative to the benefits of Community Preservation was distributed to the CPC <br /> members as well as the interested public attending this meeting. The booklet contains <br /> photographs of the accomplishments of the CPC along with a description of Clean Water <br /> projects, and funded projects in the area of Open Space,Recreation,Historic Preservation and <br /> Affordable Housing. The information was compiled by members of the Community <br /> Preservation Committee. (Enclosure) <br /> Chairman Russell facilitated the meeting by reviewing the accomplishments of the Community <br /> Preservation Program since its inception in 2005. Though the local surcharge which has now <br /> been reduced from 3%to 2%to assist with the Wastewater Infrastructure Investment Fund <br /> (WIIF) $20,978,379 has been raised. The state funding match of$9,122,379 brings forth a total <br /> amount of$30,100,758 in Community Preservation Funds to date. Funds are distributed to <br /> eligible projects under the respective four categories, Open Space,Recreation,Historic and <br /> Affordable Housing purposes. <br />
