r A <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 7, 200 <br /> Present: Selectman Cahalane, Selectman Green, Selectman Taylor, <br /> Selectman 1larsters, Selectman flyers <br /> Town Manager, Joyce Mason <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Cahalane at 630 p.m. <br /> Town Mall, Conference Room #1.. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: ' <br /> Public Comment; None at this time. <br /> Leisure Services Director—Building Proposal/Kids I lub: <br /> Selectman Taylor stepped down for the above referenced agenda topic of <br /> discussion. <br /> Gus Frederick, Director of Leisure Services was present to request the <br /> Selectmen support the proposal of his department to establish A Kids Klub <br /> Pre-School and Daycare Center at the former location of the Mshpee <br /> Senior Center. <br /> The program from the planned new location would include a Toddler <br /> per g=for children fifteen months to 2.9 years. It is the goal of the <br /> department to establish an Infant Program within six months of the <br /> expansion of the Toddler Program. <br /> Present operations and constraints for the program currently operated out <br /> of the recreation building on route 130 were disclosed. The former Carol <br /> Jacobson Senior Center would serve as an ideal location for the expansion <br /> that would include added space for a full-day care program for town <br /> employees and their families. <br /> Discussion followed with respect to setting up an Enterprise Fund to <br /> support the Kids Flub building and its program. Occupancy scenarios <br /> were disclosed. It was noted that the program as its presently run is <br /> operating at or near capacity at the recreation building. <br /> It was noted that an article would enable the creation of an Enterprise <br /> Fund which would self-fund the program 1 % from tuition, donations <br /> and ire-kind services. <br />
