a r <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 7, 2005 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS <br /> Joint Meeting.with Finance Committee—Budget Discussion: <br /> The Capital Improvement Program recommendation will be finalized b <br /> the CIP Committee at their meeting this week. The present <br /> recommendation is $413,095. In addition,there is capital items associated <br /> to the Fire Department t that would be ftnded through the Ambulance <br /> Receipts Account. <br /> It was agreed that an ad hoc committee comprised of members of the <br /> Finance Committee,Board of Selectmen and School Department would <br /> meet to discuss recommendations for the upcoming school budget. At this <br /> time,the Town Manager has recommended a budget of 17, 9 , 9 . The <br /> figure does not include the Cape Cod Technical School appropriation. <br /> The next scheduled budget meeting is Monday, March 21, 2005. <br /> NEW BUSINESS; <br /> Annual and Special Town Meetinp,Warrants—Draft 1: <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed Draft#1 of the Annual and Special <br /> Town Meeting Warrants of Monday, May 2, 2005. <br /> The Special Town Meeting Warrant will require approximately $221,353 <br /> to fund the unpaid hills of a prior fiscal year and the estimated snow and <br /> ice deficit. Funds-for this purpose would derive from free cash. <br /> Presently,the Annual Town Meeting has funding requests estimated to <br /> cost$2,,840,892. Costs include requested new positions,the increase in <br /> hours of two positions,textbooks, GIS equipment,transfers or borrowing <br /> authorizations for waterways irnprovements, Chapter 90,ball fields, <br /> cemetery maintenance and land purchases. <br />
