-2-
Richard met with Catherine, and her department has removed all of the building
materials which had been stored in the Archives basement temporarily after woodshed
project was completed last spring.
Richard met with Grafton at Baker Monument who thinks he can easily reset the stones
at the Bourne Cemetery. Catherine will work with him to get this project completed as
soon as possible. Richard mentioned that he checked with the Tribe and the Select
Board to inform them of the name change at one of the ancient cemeteries. We need to
decide on appropriate signage for the cemeteries.
Ava discussed the need to get the new procedures to elect people to Town Boards so
that we can recommend that Lenny Pocknett be appointed to our Board. Lenny
previously sent a letter of interest to join the Commission to the Town in June of 2023,
and we are still waiting for the new interviewing guidelines. In addition, our Select
Board liason will have to be present during the interviewing process. Ava will check into
it again so we can proceed.
The Historical Preservation Award ceremony will be on October 9t". The 2022 awards
will be presented to the faculty member and students who completed the One-Room
Schoolhouse Woodshed Project. The project was led by teacher, Mark Rosbach, and
the students who participated were Brycen Feren, Tevin Mattis, and Andrew Weiner,.
We had previously voted that the theme for the Open House would be Faces of
Mashpee. Many photos of Mashpee Wampanoags and other town folks will be on
display on the poster tri-boards. Richard and Ava also thought up a simple scavenger
hunt to add some interest for younger guests. Richard asked Alex if we could print the
list of names in the Enterprise prior to the Open House. Alex suggested that Richard
contact the paper to find out about costs and other details.
Richard made a motion to adjourn, and it was voted unanimously at 6:15 pm.
µ
Respectfully submitted
Ann Graham, Sr. Clerk
