Minutes Mashpee Waterways Commission <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> Date: 9/13/2023 <br /> Chairman Steve Mone convened the meeting at 6:00pm in the Popponesset Meeting Room <br /> Attendees: Steve Mone, Tim Leedham, Dick Noonan, Rick Santangelo, Gregg Fraser <br /> Also present: Bob Tomaino <br /> Absent: Ken Bates, Ron Marchessault <br /> Minutes: <br /> The minutes from the June 14, 2023 Regular Meeting were not approved at this meeting. They <br /> will be reviewed and a vote of approval sought at the next scheduled meeting scheduled on <br /> October 11, 2023. <br /> Appointments&Information Sessions• <br /> Nothing to report <br /> Communica!LQns,&Correa pr dents: <br /> An application to replace an existing floating pier with a new floating pier at 16 Summersea <br /> Road, Mashpee was received.The Harbormaster reported that he had received, reviewed and <br /> approved. <br /> OIL! Business: <br /> Harbormaster's Report: <br /> - Comprehensive 10 Year Permit: Paperwork progress continues on track <br /> - GR/LR Dredge:The core sampling and analysis has been completed. The MEPA application <br /> has been drafted and a preliminary review will be conducted following by a meeting with the <br /> Harbormaster's Office, Waterways and the BSC Group after which the filing will take place. <br /> - Aquaculture License Moratorium: Nothing to report from DNR <br /> - Harbor Managment Plan: There was no meeting last month so nothing new to report <br /> - Poppy Approach Dredge: Bob Tomaino reported that work began on 9/11/23. Good <br /> progress is being made. There will be a pause as they now need to break down equipment <br /> and move inside the spit due to the pending storm. It is anticipated that the project will <br /> remove 7,000 cubic yards of material and take about 20 days of dredging. Bob also reported <br /> that our normal annual dredge for the channel remains on the schedule and is currently <br /> planned to begin on 2/1/24. We will do a pre-dredge survey to determine the extent of <br /> dredging that will have to be done since this late season dredge. A question was raised on <br /> the cost of this dredge. Bob responded the estimate is$110,000 and Save the Bay will <br /> contribute to the cost per our existing agreement with them. It was decided that a vote <br /> should be taken to approve the contract up to that cost. A motion to approve was made by a <br /> Gregg Fraser, seconded by Steve Mone and unanimously approved by all present. Tim <br /> Leedham asked Bob Tomaino at this point if he had an update on Save The Bay's "Wider, <br /> Deeper, Longer" project. Bob responded that the permitting process is well along in the <br /> process. <br />
