Discussion and Approval of Request for Transfer of approximately $71,643.72 from the Finance
Committee Reserve Fund to the Select Board Capital Account (01122200-583201) to cover the cost for
purchasing four electric vehicles which were leased.

A motion was made by Darlene Furbush to approve the Transfer of $71,643.72 from the Finance Committee
Reserve Fund to the Select Board Capital Account to cover the cost of purchasing four electric vehicles that
were leased.
Motion seconded by Greg McKelvey.

Mr. Collins began by thanking the Committee for their attendance at the meeting on such short notice.

Mr. Collins explained to the Committee Members that a few years ago the Town Planner applied for and
received a grant for electric vehicles. He went on to explain that a Town Planner isn’t generally part of a vehicle
CIP, it should have been the Town Manager’s Office, and that this was a set of unusual circumstances as the
Town Planner was the one that wrote and obtained the grant. The amount of the buyout (if that was what the
Town chose to do) was never put into CIP and now the Town is approximately 3 months past the lease end date
and the leasing company is tacking on additional charges. The actual amount owed is closer to $60,000. He
stated that if the figure gets approved tonight he is going to call the leasing company first thing in the morning
requesting that the additional charges be waived.
1
