This is paid for in full by ambulance receipts.
There are 93000 miles and 104000 miles on present ambulances. Collins: Station 1- has 2 ambulances;
station 2 has 1 ambulance. There are a total of three. Ambulance receipts come here for transports, if no
backup, then we don't receive ambulance receipts the Town responding does.
Phelan: Not suggesting trading in an ambulance rather, keeping a fourth as a backup.
McKelvey: Where are the ambulances serviced? Phelan: DPW
Collins: Call volume has gone up? Phelan: Yes.
DeBoer: Was an ambulance in FY 24?Thayer: Yes, it was approved. Phelan: It takes a long time to build.
Cotton: Do you do mutual aid? Phelan: Cape has robust mutual aid system, no need to contract out to other
towns. Collins: Is the Town reimbursed? Phelan:Yes
Cotton: Is this a redundant ambulance? Phelan: It is kept as a reserve ambulance. Right now all three are
running. It takes 2 % years to build an ambulance. Collins: There is a significant delay on order and delivery
of ambulance, so it is a valid reason to have back up.
Collins: Any more questions? DeBoer: Which ambulance is going to be replaced?The one in FY 26.
