Mr. McManus indicated the update is very valuable and long overdue. Approval of an
updated plan would bring forth grant opportunities and assist the Town in its planning process.
Mr. McManus stated that he would contribute to the prioritization of projects as necessary.
This application was submitted by the Environmental Oversight Committee. The point of
contact and lead to create the RFP and other required documentation as well as securing the
procurement of funds was discussed. This assignment is generally conducted by a staff person.
It was agreed the Town Manager would be consulted with respect to this process.
In considering the funding request, the amount of$100,000 was deemed sufficient to hire a
consultant to develop the extensive plan that requires public outreach and participation from
other Town boards and committees.
Motion made by Ms. Wyman-Colombo to approve and recommend to the May 2024
Special Town Meeting; the Update of the Open Space& Recreation Plan; an amount not to
exceed $100,000; funding shall derive from the CPC Budget for Appropriation Reserve;
contingent upon discussions with the Town Manager regarding the staff assignment(s)to
this project.
Motion seconded by Mr.Hyde.
VOTE: 7-0.Unanimous.
Roll Call Vote:
Ms. Russell, yes Mr. Hyde, yes Ms. Waygan, yes Ms.Barbee, yes
Ms. Klein,yes Ms.Wyman-Colombo,yes Ms. Godfrey,yes Opposed, none
