<br /> <br />MINUTES <br />MASHPEE BOARD OF SEWER COMMISSIONERS <br />THURSDAY, JANUARY 25, 2024, 2:00 p.m. <br />MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br />WAQUOIT MEETING ROOM <br />16 GREAT NECK ROAD NORTH <br />MASHPEE, MA 02649 <br />*In-person, televised meeting* <br /> <br />Present: Chair, Chad Smith, Vice-Chair, Meredith Harris (via Zoom), Catherine Casteneda, Joe Lyons, <br /> Al Towle <br /> <br />Other Attendees: Ashley Fisher, Director of Natural Resources <br /> Jared Meader, Town of Mashpee Wastewater Superintendent <br /> Sandra Tripp, GHD <br /> Michaela Wyman-Columbo, Select Board <br /> <br />Absent: Phyllis Sprout <br /> <br />2:00PM – Convene Meeting: Chair, Chad Smith called the meeting to order at 2:00PM in open session at <br />Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />MOMENT OF SILENCE <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION <br />None at this Time. <br />APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS <br />None at this Time. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Discussion and approval of the January 11 11, 2023 Sewer Commission Meeting minutes. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Towle to approve the minutes of the December 14, 2023 Sewer Commission <br />meeting. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Lyons. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />1. Discussion of Nitrogen Reduction Project with Current 439 and Subsequent 1,288 Properties. <br />Jared Meader stated that the 1,288 Properties is tentative and that right now we stand at 1,727 properties <br />and which will account for 1/3 of the nitrogen removal. He stated that this is a rough estimate and as other <br />factors come into play, should increase. A few other factors being, the shellfish program, fertilizer <br />management and storm water management. <br />Vice Chair Harris suggested that people watch the video of the Select Board meeting to view the presentation <br />made by Catherine Laurent regarding the storm water management plan. She also stated that the APCC <br />published the state of the waters last month indicating that are more clogged and the bays appear clearer. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
