The desk was a <br /> custom design that was developed during the new building construction, and the electrical wiring is built into <br /> the body of the desk. There have been problems with the electrical connections at the desk,which may be <br /> difficult to repair since they are located within the interior of the desk. <br /> The first floor staff work area needs to be reconfigured to provide office space for the Assistant Director to <br /> fulfill the duties associated with the position. There is currently no private space to meet with staff and discuss <br /> work, projects, and other matters. <br /> The current shelving and storage options are also being reviewed for capacity and usage. The Library of Things <br /> is in its formative stages, and will require sufficient storage to house the items. <br /> Friends Liaison Re;)ort <br /> The Friends have been working on the upcoming Library Birthday event featuring the return of the Selander <br /> Open mini-golf event during April school vacation week. They have secured sponsorships for all of the holes <br /> and are looking forward to a day of free fun and celebrating with the community. <br /> The Friends are also working on ideas to honor the memory of recently deceased board member, Andrea Kane. <br /> Suggestions include a bench or a tree with a memorial plaque. <br /> The big summer fundraiser will be a luncheon and author talk featuring bestselling author Nathaniel Philbrick <br /> who will discuss his book"Travels with George" on June 19, at Willowbend Country Club. <br /> In addition, they are planning a Ladies Night out on August 4, at New Seabury. The Friends are doing well <br /> with their fundraising efforts and have raised more than $20,000 from the annual appeal. <br /> Trustee Advocae <br /> Ann Macdonald reported that outreach to Southport has been put on hold until the fall months. <br /> The Trustees can work on an appropriate way to recognize Earl Mills for donating his collection of Native <br /> American materials to the Library. <br /> The Trustees will brainstorm ways to do become more visible in the community and generate enthusiasm and <br /> support for the Library. <br /> Next M tin Y...Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. <br /> Ad`ournment <br /> Joan Lyons motioned to adjourn.
