reconfiguring the periodical wall to add pods or mobile
workspaces for privacy.
o The Library Director shared pictures of potential pods
and workspaces and there was a discussion of
possible configurations and options.
o The Children's Garden area is also in need of renovation.
* The Library Director reached out to the Chair of the Community
Preservation Committee for guidance on submitting a CPC
application for funding for improvements to the Children's Garden.
* The application deadline for CPC funding is November 17, 2022.
The Library Director indicated we will not be ready to apply this fall,
but will look at the spring funding round.
Suggestions were made for additions to the Children's
Garden including adding a working garden and, or applying
for an MBLC grant.
Mashpee Enterprise Digitization
o The Library sent the materials to digitize the Mashpee Enterprise to the
Boston Public Library for inclusion in the Massachusetts Digital
Commonwealth in early 2020.
* COVID has slowed down the process, but the current expectation is
that the project will be completed in the next six to eight months.
* The company that was originally considered for the project has
increased their fees for other local libraries enormously, so the
decision to work with Boston Public Library to host the Mashpee
Enterprise through the Massachusetts Digital Commonwealth,
emerged as the better and more financially viable option, despite
the wait time.
& State Aid and ARTS
o The State Aid and ARIS reports have both been submitted.
* The Mashpee Library application was not reviewed in the first
round of the process, but could possibly be in the Dec.1, 2022
round.
* The expectation is that the library will receive about $25,000 in
state grant funding.
