Town of Mashpee <br />16 Great Neck Rd North <br />Mashpee, MA 02649 <br />Mashpee Conservation Commission Minutes <br />Thursday, December 8th, 2022 <br />Waquoit Meeting Room, Mashpee Town Hall, 16 Great Neck Road North <br />608-639-1400, extension 8564 <br />Broadcast Live on Local Cable Channel 18 <br />Streamed live on the Town of Mashpee website: hiips://www.mashpeema.gov/channel-18 <br />PRESENT: Paul Colombo, Brian Weeden, Alex Zollo, Charles Dalton, Marjorie Clapprood, <br />Erin Copeland, <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Chairman Colombo called the meeting to order at 6:OOpm. <br />Pledge of Allegiance <br />PRE/POST-HEARING AGENDA: <br />Redbrook Rd Culvert Replacement Update: Neal Price of Horsley Witten Group <br />presented the background and details of a feasibility study conducted for a proposed <br />replacement of a failed culvert at Redbrook Rd. The culvert lies at the town boundary <br />with Falmouth and both towns are working cooperatively to deal with a replacement <br />strategy. Mr. Price detailed the history of assessment of the Redbrook system and culvert <br />details of the feasibility study for culvert replacement. Pare Engineering conducted a <br />phase 1 inspection of this dam back in 2019 and deemed it to be in failure status. Some <br />abutting residents attended this presentation and had some questions about the road, <br />culvert replacement and any additional restoration initiatives in this area <br />• Approval of Meeting Minutes <br />04-14-22: Chad Smith motion to approve minutes. Charlie Dalton seconded the <br />motion (voting: Chad, Paul, Tom, Alex & Charlie) <br />Updates: <br />o Redbrook Rd Culvert: Final report completed by Horsley Witten Group. <br />Recommendation for open box culvert with no flow restrictions. Consultant does <br />not recommend replacement of sandbags due to road safety concerns. Mr. <br />Colombo asked if the failed tidal dam downstream is part of the project scope <br />and the Agent clarified that it is not currently part of the project. <br />o Upper Quashnet Restoration: Phase 2 ongoing. No new updates <br />
