Discussion ensued. Mrs Zollo <br />asked what the purchase cost of the 8 acres is, which is roughly 1.2 million. <br />Agent suggested adding land acquisition as an ongoing agenda item. Purpura, 134 Shore Drive West: Proposed construction and NOI <br />maintenance of beach access stairs down a coastal bank leading to coastal beach. <br />Representative, Cape and Islands Engineering. Raul Lizardi described the proposal and <br />situation that required the previous continuance, that being a violation that resulted in <br />topping of trees and illegal cutting of vegetation within 50 feet of the top of coastal bank. <br />Additionally, there was significant bank erosion observed by staff that requires stabilization. <br />New homeowner has taken responsibility for compliance of violations. Much of the cut <br />vegetation is invasive species, thus part of this application involves invasive species <br />management, bank stabilization and construction of beach access stairway. Mr. Lizardi <br />described the bank stabilization approach and methodology as well as the methodology for <br />the stairway construction. Mrs Copeland asked about timeline of cutting and who actually <br />did the cutting. Mr. Lizardi said it was a hired contractor and they're still trying to find out <br />who it was, but the contractor was hired by the previous homeowner. The violation took <br />place during the transition period of previous and current homeowner. Mrs Zollo asked <br />about presence of a view corridor.
