Environmental Oversight Committee Meeting <br /> February 26a',2024 <br /> 4:00 p.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Popponesset Meeting Room-Minutes <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North, Mashpee Mashpee, MA,02619 <br /> Meeting Minutes: <br /> Members Present:Paul Colombo,Ashley Fisher,Anne Malone,Dale Oakley Jr., and Alexandra Zollo, <br /> Members Absent: Laishona Vitelli and David Weeden <br /> CALL TO ORDER 4:09 p.m. — Convened in Open Session <br /> ➢ The meeting was called to order at 4:09 p.m. at the Mashpee Town Hall, Popponesset <br /> Meeting Room. <br /> ■ Vise Chair Alexandra Zollo held a moment of silence. <br /> Review and Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes <br /> ➢ **Note to revise from agenda for Monday,December 1 It'2023—No meeting held. November <br /> 30th minutes to be approved at the next meeting. <br /> ➢ January 29t" 2024 —Motion to approve made by Mr. Colombo; Mrs. Malone seconded the <br /> motion. Unanimous approval made by those present. <br /> Old Business <br /> ➢ Discussion: <br /> Grant Opportunities and Updates <br /> ■ Ashley Fisher updated the committee in regards to the NOAA grant submissions. No <br /> notification of awards has been given at this time. <br /> ■ Ashley updated the committee in regards to ongoing grants the Department of Natural <br /> Resources(DNR)and The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe's Natural Resources Department <br /> (NRD) have been working on together. Those include the Santuit Pond Municipal <br /> Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Grant, the Southeast New England Partnership <br /> (SNEP, EPA) grant: Santuit Pond Watershed Management Plan and Nutrient <br /> Inactivation, and the 604b Department of Environmental Protection Stormwater <br /> Improvement and Wetland Restoration grant for the Santuit Town Landing. <br /> ■ The Town plans to submit an additional grant proposal to MVP for the construction of <br /> stromwater improvements,wetland restoration, and beautification of the Santuit Town <br /> Landing. She is working with the Tribe to install a cultural piece or a mural on the site in <br /> support of the Tribe's"Rights of Nature"endeavor for the herring. Dale mentioned that <br /> the NRD is supportive of the project. <br />
