Town of Mashpee
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
MEETING MINUTES
FEBRUARY 14,2024
The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals held Public Hearings on Wednesday, February 14, 2024,
at 6:00 p.m. in the Waquoit Room at the Mashpee Town Hall, 16 Great Neck Road North.
Chairman, Ronald Bonvie, Board Members, Sharon Sangeleer, William Blaisdell, Jonathan
Furbush, Scott Goldstein, and Associate Members, George Ganzenmuller, Charles Reidy, and
Robert Caggiano.
Chairman Bonvie opened the meeting at 6:00 pm and announced that the hearings were being
televised live on Mashpee TV. He will take comments after each hearing.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
CONTINUED HEARINGS
5 Sheffield Place: Owners, Christopher P. Funk and Donna M. Funk request a Variance under
§174-31 of the Zoning Bylaws to allow for construction of a 200 sq. ft. shed on property located
in an R-5 Zoning District,Map 29,Parcel 150,Mashpee,MA. (Continued from January 10,2024
hearings at the request of the applicant).
Attorney Christopher Kirrane represented the homeowners for a Variance request to vary the side
yard lot line of an existing 200 sq.ft. shed 11 ft. from the property line. This application was before
the Board back in December,2022 for the same request. At that time, the homeowners provided a
site plan that depicted two sheds on the property, the 200 sq. ft. shed, and a smaller shed situated
in the rear on Town property. The Board had a discussion with the homeowners to move the
smaller shed 5 ft.off the rear property line, and provide a revised site plan depicting the corrections
made to the property. The homeowners returned to the Board, and are now requesting a 4 ft.
variance for the 200 sq. ft. shed.
Attorney Kirrane explained that the homeowners have complied with the Board's requests from
the previous hearing, and believes a Variance is warranted. The neighbor who would be most
affected by this variance provided a letter, and has no objections to the placement of the shed.
Chairman Bonvie asked the Board for comments.
i
